ONE YEAR DOWN!!

August 23, 2014!! I can't believe its been a year already!! We have had an awesome first year of marriage and I am still happy I married my best friend. He truly is one of a kind!

James and I have been keeping a BIG secret and its time to let you in on it! We are very excited to share with you that baby Mitchell is due March 2016!

James and I found out at the end of June in an interesting way. I was having some weird arm pain in my left arm only and it was the weirdest thing I have ever felt. I wasn't sure what was going on but I was in a lot of pain. I told James that I needed to have it looked at so we went to an urgent care. They had no idea what was going on and they worried that I was having neurological issues so they sent us to the ER. The first thing they did in the ER was draw my blood to run some tests. We had been in the ER for hours when finally the PA came in and nonchalantly said, "well we aren't sure why your arm hurts... but we do know that you are definitely pregnant." WHAT?!? James and I looked at each other terrified and couldn't help but laugh 'cause we were not prepared at all for that news.

We decided not to tell anyone 'til I was around twelve weeks. We told my little sister Lindsay first and it was so fun to see her reaction and get this exciting secret off our chests. While in Oregon we told my dad and my little brother by having them open a suitcase full of balloons and the ultrasound picture. They were so surprised and my dads reaction was so funny. After that, we told my mom, sister and brother-in-law by sending them the video of my dad opening the surprise. They were excited for us too. They can't wait to have a playmate for their new little boy Tres. Then last but not least we told the Mitchells. We surprised them by buying some cookies and inside the box we put "cookies for everyone so my mom isn't the only one with a tummy" and included a picture of the ultrasound. Their reaction was priceless. We are so excited that this secret is finally out and we can't wait to see baby M grow over these next few months. We are so grateful for the love and support we have received from family and friends.

Independence Day!

I had such a good 4th of July weekend with my family. We went to Seven Peaks on Friday, went to go see trains with my cute little nephew and niece, and then had a delicious dinner my dad made.

Saturday we woke up early and went to the Freedom Festival Parade like we have done every year since I can remember, took a nap, had a BBQ, went to get shaved ice from Hokulia (THE BEST), and then went back to my grandparents house to watch the firework show. It was a day full of fun.

Outfit was just a very simple red, white and blue look;

Boy baseball T from forever21
Burmuda shorts made out of old jeans
Lipstick from MAC Lady Danger
Sandals are Salt Waters

Noisy in Boise

We went up to Boise Idaho to go camping and ended up getting rained out so we found many more fun things that we could do. Luckily, we were with some of James' friends that live in Boise and they showed us a really good time. We went to an awesome water park, rented stand up paddle boards, went to the farmers market, and played some tennis (I am not very good but I'm working on my game). On the last day we went to a park that had a really cool hike and I found a playground that had workout equipment so I got my work out done in the park. haha I was just mostly playing around cuz after all, I was on vacation. It was a really fun relaxing trip. Kinda glad that camping got rained out cuz this city girl wasn't exactly dying to go camping.

Summer fun in the park

James and I went up to one of the Twilight concerts in Salt Lake! Twilight concerts seem to bring out the most interesting people around and they make for a great opportunity to people watch. It beats dinner and a movie and makes for a great date night. We went to go see Death Cab for Cutie (one of our favorites) and they put on an amazing show! Tickets are only $5 and I recommend checking out a show Thursday nights @ Pioneer Park in SLC every summer starting in July.
Also, check out Death Cab's new music here and see the remaining Twilight concert series lineup here.

We also went to a movie in the park at Rock Canyon Park in Provo and watched Big Hero 6. Such a cute movie! If you have never been to a movie in the park, it is something the whole family can enjoy. I had a blast cuddling under the stars on a warm summer night watching a cute movie. And you can't beat free!!!

More info about Provo's Movies in the Park and the remaining schedule this summer can be found here.

Canyoneering near Zions National Park

This is one of the scariest things I have ever done!! I am not typically afraid of heights or roller coasters, but walking backwards off a cliff??? Now THAT is some scary stuff! James' close friends Casey & Carol Glines and their family invited us to stay in their beautiful cabin in Ponderosa Ranch for the weekend and we hiked Burch Hollow near Orderville Canyon. It was a hard, but fulfilling hiking experience. Honestly, I was terrified and got a little teary eyed right before my first rappel, but then after I conquered those first steps backwards off that cliff I wasn't scared and I had a great time. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to conquer a fear. The canyon was beautiful! We spent time in a cute cabin, relaxed by the pool, played some games, told stories, went on RZR rides and made yummy hobo dinners!!! Before heading home, the boys played a round of golf at Thunderbird Golf Course while the girls drove the golf carts! Thanks to the Brown family, Casey & Carol Glines and David & Taylor Gilbert for a great weekend!!

Those are just a few fun things I have done this summer. We have so many more fun things to do in the small amount of time left 'til my husband goes back to school. EEK!! It took me so long to post most of these pics and I will be more on top of updating you all on my life and my look. Thank you for taking the time to read this novel.
