DEATH BY KAYLA!!

"Here's to us. Here's to ordering a salad when you really want a burger. To making an idiot out of ourselves in cardio hip-hop class. To drinking more water than seems humanly possible. To going five more minutes on the elliptical. To saying "Screw you" to the old you. To falling in love with the you who you want to become. To looking in the mirror and not seeing any changes, throwing on your running shoes and working out anyway. To looking in the mirror and seeing major change. Here's to carrots and shin splints and sweaty T-shirts, and perseverance, and sore muscles, and stinky socks, and 7AM , and spin classes, and falling down, and getting back up, and bottled water. Here's to getting up everyday and doing it all over again."

That quote is so true and so inspiring because those are all the things you think about when you are getting ready to transform yourself.

I have always been small but I haven't always been toned. I like to call it a skinny fat person. The reasoning for that is that I'm skinny, but not toned, and I don't always eat healthy when I know I should. But I would like to one day say that I will be small and toned hahah.  I just want to feel good in my own skin and also in a bikini. Who doesn't want that? So I started my body transformation.

I just started doing the Kayla Itsines 12 Week Bikini Body, and let me tell you I am not a person who enjoys working out. I am 6 weeks postpartum and its time to get myself back into gear! With this program you have to track your progress by taking photos every four weeks and keeping tabs on your weight losses and gains. I took my first week pictures and let me tell you I was terrified. I have never looked like this in my life and granted I just had a baby 6 weeks ago but I realized that this is going to be a long and hard process.

Not only will working out change the way you feel and look, you also have to eat right, and drink plenty of water. I have struggled with this because I love snacking and my husband can sit and eat whatever he wants without consequence. I wish I could, but I know if I do it will ruin all the progress I made that day. So when I go grocery shopping I try to buy healthier food and fewer snacks but its a struggle. I am better at drinking a ton of water due to pregnancy and having to stay hydrated to help with my swollen feet

I would love to share some of my favorite healthy meals and snacks. I will try to post them as often as I can and update you on my progress. Not sure if I will ever feel confident enough to post my 4 week photo updates but you never know.

chocolate chips and marshmallows. Place in the fridge and enjoy in the morning add the graham cracker and enjoy.

I am on week 3 of the BBG program and still not seeing major results but what can you expect after 3 weeks... I have also been going on 3-5 mile walks for my cardio during the weeks. This past weekend my husband and I went on a small hike with the little dude. I had him wrapped to me so I hiked with an extra 10 pounds. It was a pretty good workout. A week at a time and hopefully I can get swimsuit ready.
