James and I first met in FANZZ while I worked there for a few months. He walked in asking where he could find Oregon Duck snapbacks and in the nicest way possible I responded, "umm.. in Oregon." He said okay and I asked him if he was from Oregon. He said he was and we talked for a few minutes before he left.
A month or so passed and I eventually ran into him again in the Raintree Apartments clubhouse. We didn't know it before but we had several mutual friends. He didn't remember me at first, but we got to talking and had an equally awkward encounter as the one we had a few months earlier in FANZZ.
Another month passed and we ended up running into each other at a pool party. The whole night passed without talking to each other until the very end when he came up to me and said, "oh I didn't recognize you..." haha...boys right? After that night we began to see each other more frequently.
On March 16, 2012 we started dating on and off for two long years that were full of ups and downs. Side note: James did end up getting the Oregon snap back hat he wanted. I found one while we were on a break, bought it for him and used it to make him fall in love with me.
On March 30, 2014 James asked me to be his wife!!! I was so shocked and speechless but after getting my thoughts together I said YES!!!
On August 23, 2014 we were sealed for time and all eternity and what an amazing experience it was!! I could not be more ecstatic that I made the decision not only to marry the man of my dreams, but to get sealed to him in the Portland, Oregon LDS Temple. This decision has been a great blessing in our life together.
We welcomed our sweet little baby boy Anderson James Mitchell into the world on March 11, 2016. He is our whole world and we can't imagine life without him. I'm so in love with our little family and our story. I hope you enjoy reading and seeing new updates about our lives.
