Bohemian Festival Knot Braid

I have been obsessed with braids for a while now, but my favorite braid is anything fishtail. The Bohemian Festival Knot Braid is an easy hair style to do. Here is a link to a basic step by step tutorial on how to fishtail.

* first video tutorial so be kind*

Below I have it written down step by step if its easier for you.

STEP ONE: style your hair the way you want it. I curled mine to make it look more messy and it will be easy to re style with minimal heat the next day. (I don't ever wash my hair... well I do just every 3-4 days.)

STEP TWO: You will want to create a fishtail braid from a section of hair on one side of the head. Then secure with an elastic. I like to pull it apart a little to give it a thicker look. Then you will repeat on the other side.

STEP THREE:Once you have both sides braided, bring them together and tie them in a knot at the back of the head.

STEP FOUR: Tie the hair in a knot a second time and secure with one or two bobby pins. Remove the hair elastics once the knot is pinned and let the braided ends fall straight.

I would love to see how you guys wore this style #georgyporgyhair

Basic Fishtail Braid

I feel everyone should know the basics to braiding. It is an easy way to style your hair when you are in a rush, when you have dirty hair, or when you just want to add something fun to your look. Today I am going to show you how do the fishtail braid.

(I am going to show you how to do a side fishtail look)

* first video tutorial so be kind*

Below I have it written down step by step if its easier for you.

STEP ONE: you will want to pull all your hair over to the side you would like the braid to sit.

STEP TWO: You will want to split your hair into two parts

STEP THREE: You will then start transferring hair from each side. I feel the smaller pieces you use the more defined the braid looks.

STEP FOUR: Once your braid is complete you can pull it apart to make it look fuller and a little messy.

I hope you enjoy rocking your fishtail braid. I would love to see your looks if you post it #georgyporgyhair

three months already

Anderson is already three months! I cannot believe it!

Height: 22 7/8"

Weight: 11 lbs, 5 oz

Clothing size: Anderson is a man of many sizes. He can still fit into some newborn clothes. 0-3 months is kinda tricky in the bottom department, but he is wearing both 0-3 and 3-6 sized tops. It just depends on the brand.

Diaper size: Size one. We luv the LUVS brand.

Nickname: Bupas, Bubbas, Bub, Bud, and Anders.

Sleep: We are finally getting the hang of it!! Anderson sleeps through the night from 11:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. give or take a few hours. Did I mention he sleeps in his big boy bed?! Anderson is growing up so fast! I am worried that the four month sleep regression is starting early.

Likes: Looking around at everything, playing with his hands, eating his hands and sleeping. Anderson loves his white noise, sleeping on mom, Bath Time, Tummy Time, Cuddling, Eating, and throwing up on mom and dad. He also loves to suck on his wubbanub and sit and watch TV with his dad.

Dislikes: Getting his diaper changed (doing better at this), Getting dressed and undressed, Getting out of the bath.

Milestones: Anderson is so strong! He has been holding his neck up from day one and he can push himself up to a standing position when you hold him on your stomach. He does lots of tummy time and he has started to coo more and more. We are loving it!! Anderson loves his swing and has started to notice the monkeys. He will sit and coo at them; it's so cute. He also is smiling more and more. We have gotten him to giggle a little but we are still waiting to hear his full on laugh.

Pool time and matching outfits with his cousin Tres!

Tres didnt want to share his bed.

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always. As long as i'm living my baby you'll be!

I love this little boy so much and I'm so beyond grateful for eternal families. Anderson has brought so much joy into both our lives. It is so fun watching him grow and discover new things.

blonde balayage

I had the opportunity to get my hair done by Kirsten. She does amazing work! She helped me take my hair to the next level and get ready for summer. I am so in love with how it turned out. After having a baby I felt like I needed a new look. Everything is just different and I feel so much better about my appearance (still have a ways to go). But I am so thankful that I was able to help Kirsten teach her balayage technique to some local stylists as well as her helping me feel better about how I look and feel in the transition to becoming a mom. Go check out her instagram. Not only does she do an awesome job with a color brush, but her skills with the makeup brush are on point.

Memorial Day Weekend

What a weekend we had! Our little family visited the small town of Roosevelt, Utah where James grew up. We got together with some of  James' best buds from high school. It was a weekend full of boating and good company. Anderson loved the boat rides as well as his life vest because the neck support helped him take a nice snooze while lounging on the boat.

Here are some photos of our weekend.
Taking turns sitting in the shade with mom and dad

Anderson is so pumped about going on a boat
Watching dad play softball
Nap time with mom

Hope you all had a wonderful and safe weekend. Although we get a 3 day weekend to BBQ and relax with friends and family every year on this holiday don't forget the brave soldiers and their families who make a huge sacrifice for our freedom.
