Independence Day!

I had such a good 4th of July weekend with my family. We went to Seven Peaks on Friday, went to go see trains with my cute little nephew and niece, and then had a delicious dinner my dad made.

Saturday we woke up early and went to the Freedom Festival Parade like we have done every year since I can remember, took a nap, had a BBQ, went to get shaved ice from Hokulia (THE BEST), and then went back to my grandparents house to watch the firework show. It was a day full of fun.

Outfit was just a very simple red, white and blue look;

Boy baseball T from forever21
Burmuda shorts made out of old jeans
Lipstick from MAC Lady Danger
Sandals are Salt Waters

Noisy in Boise

We went up to Boise Idaho to go camping and ended up getting rained out so we found many more fun things that we could do. Luckily, we were with some of James' friends that live in Boise and they showed us a really good time. We went to an awesome water park, rented stand up paddle boards, went to the farmers market, and played some tennis (I am not very good but I'm working on my game). On the last day we went to a park that had a really cool hike and I found a playground that had workout equipment so I got my work out done in the park. haha I was just mostly playing around cuz after all, I was on vacation. It was a really fun relaxing trip. Kinda glad that camping got rained out cuz this city girl wasn't exactly dying to go camping.

Summer fun in the park

James and I went up to one of the Twilight concerts in Salt Lake! Twilight concerts seem to bring out the most interesting people around and they make for a great opportunity to people watch. It beats dinner and a movie and makes for a great date night. We went to go see Death Cab for Cutie (one of our favorites) and they put on an amazing show! Tickets are only $5 and I recommend checking out a show Thursday nights @ Pioneer Park in SLC every summer starting in July.
Also, check out Death Cab's new music here and see the remaining Twilight concert series lineup here.

We also went to a movie in the park at Rock Canyon Park in Provo and watched Big Hero 6. Such a cute movie! If you have never been to a movie in the park, it is something the whole family can enjoy. I had a blast cuddling under the stars on a warm summer night watching a cute movie. And you can't beat free!!!

More info about Provo's Movies in the Park and the remaining schedule this summer can be found here.

Canyoneering near Zions National Park

This is one of the scariest things I have ever done!! I am not typically afraid of heights or roller coasters, but walking backwards off a cliff??? Now THAT is some scary stuff! James' close friends Casey & Carol Glines and their family invited us to stay in their beautiful cabin in Ponderosa Ranch for the weekend and we hiked Burch Hollow near Orderville Canyon. It was a hard, but fulfilling hiking experience. Honestly, I was terrified and got a little teary eyed right before my first rappel, but then after I conquered those first steps backwards off that cliff I wasn't scared and I had a great time. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to conquer a fear. The canyon was beautiful! We spent time in a cute cabin, relaxed by the pool, played some games, told stories, went on RZR rides and made yummy hobo dinners!!! Before heading home, the boys played a round of golf at Thunderbird Golf Course while the girls drove the golf carts! Thanks to the Brown family, Casey & Carol Glines and David & Taylor Gilbert for a great weekend!!

Those are just a few fun things I have done this summer. We have so many more fun things to do in the small amount of time left 'til my husband goes back to school. EEK!! It took me so long to post most of these pics and I will be more on top of updating you all on my life and my look. Thank you for taking the time to read this novel.

white & red

I am so EXCITED that the sun is starting to come out and STAY out!! It's starting to feel more and more like summer!! Time to bring out your sun hats and sun dresses. I am in LOVE with this white and red detailed dress. Micheal Kors does it again. I had a hard day trying to find something I could buy while still staying on budget and my husband and I are trying to save money but when you love to shop you always NEED something new lol. Well maybe that's just me but I am OBSESSED with clothes. Anyway, we had been walking around the mall forever when I told him I was done because I hadn't seen anything I can get. Then just as we were walking out of the store my eyes go right to this BEAUTIFUL dress. I knew I needed it. I tried it on and fell even more in love with it. The tag said the dress was 70% off so there was no way I was passing this one up. I haven't regretted this purchase at all. You can wear it with sandals, heels and booties if you want to dress it more for fall. I can wear this dress every season which makes it an even bigger steal of a deal!

a house divided

Bulls vs. Cavaliers 3-2 in the best of 7 game series. The Cavaliers pull out the win tonight and i'm okay with that. I was just excited to "watch" the games for the cute photo opportunity we would get with our jerseys. James because he actually loves watching the games, and because he loves LeBron James. I will admit it has been a pretty exciting series to watch. Two buzzer beater games in a row one form the Bulls and one from the Cavaliers. A few fights and someone ejected out of the game!! I mean come on now that's what i'm talking about.  It will be exciting to see who pulls out the final win. We all know who       James wants and you know me, I couldn't care less.

I love my husband so much and how awesome he is for taking cute little pictures with me during the halftime highlights of the game.

Outfit details: Leather leggings are one of my go to pants. You can put them with any shirt whether you want to dress them up or dress them down. Basic black T, everyone needs at least one in their wardrobe because you can also wear this with anything. Chucks! I mean what more do I need to say about these? I love mine so much and one of the best things about them is that they go with pretty much everything in my closet which is always a plus. My Jordan jersey is from my awesome husband and I have no idea where he got it. I wore my hair pulled all to one side and pinned back on the other side to add more emphasis on the one side. I also wore it like that so my hair doesn't split in the back due to overly dirty hair. Dirty hair is the best hair.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. I enjoy sharing tips on hair and make up and the occasional cute little moment between my husband and me. Let me know if you enjoyed what you have seen so far and if you want a specific breakdown on a hair style, fashion, or makeup let me know I would love to share with you.

Outfits

I LOVE fashion. Putting different things together from dresses and shoes, hair and makeup, and how if makes you feel. The first outfit is perfect for summer BBQ's or a day at the park. I am in love with the dress in the second set of pictures. It is very light and you can wear this dress in any season which makes it perfect. especially when your husband wont let you spend a ton of money on clothes every season. In the first and second set of pictures my hair is done with simple beach waves. It is super easy to do and it last for a few days, which is very nice when you are in a rush and don't have time to do your hair every morning. Also, if you don't do your hair every day with hot tools it helps it stay healthier and everyone loves healthy hair. The third outfit is one of my favorites. This white shirt is so comfortable and goes with anything. I love this fishtail braid crown I did in my hair. If you guys would like a step by step on any of my hair styles or make up just let me know and I will get right on that. My lipstick color is Candy Yum Yum from MAC. This one is my favorite one. The last hair style is a fish tail braid one of my go to hair styles when I haven't washed my hair in a few days. Dirty hair is the best hair. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if there is any thing you guys would like to see or any info on hair products or make up let me know I would love to
share my secrets with you guys.
